Welcome to Antrim Glens Cottages
Antrim Glens Cottages is the community business of North Antrim Community Network the business has been operational since 1995.
The project was supported by LEADER I, Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland, Rural Development Council and the International Fund for Ireland.
Nine derelict properties were leased in the Glens of Antrim with the aim of renovating them into self-catering accommodation. Owners were able to lease their properties to the Company for 20 years.
The project has several benefits to the area:
- enabled buildings in the area to be brought back into use
- increased provision of quality accommodation
- provided employment during renovation stage
- increased capacity of North Antrim Community Network both in initiating the project and managing ongoing developments
- employment for local people - cleaners, cottage hosts, gardeners and handy men
- sustainability for community activity
