We had a lovely week at Waters Edge. The apartment has fantastic views and was exactly what we were looking for. The children had access to a fabulous beach just a stones throw away and Cushendun was an undiscovered gem of a place to stay. The apartment itself has a very high standard of fixtures and fittings and was beautifully and tastefully furnished. We couldnt have asked for more. The kitchen had every gadget/utensil we required for a weeks stay. The welcome basket was a well received and warm gesture from Briege the host, who even provided buckets and spades for the beach! We were very impressed with the apartment and Cushendun and would highly recommend both . We were very lucky with the weather during our stay-the sun shone daily providing us with some great days out and about as well as just pottering about on the beach. We also witnessed some great sunsets from the living area. Thankyou for a lovely week. Bev, Mick Jonathan and Natasha (July 2011)

We have had a wonderful time this summer (july 2011). The location is so beautiful that we woke up each day thinking that this was all artificially made, like some kind of filmset, just to please us. It was hard for us to realize that this is all real. Besides it turned out to be a practical place from which we could travel in different directions to find ourselves surprised by the beauty and nice atmosphere of the places we visited. The appartment itself is cosy, well maintained and comfortable. It did not take long to make it feel like our home. Finally the good care of Breige made it all complete. We often tell each other: We wish we were still there! So it may be clear that we highly recommend a stay in Water's Edge.

Strand Lodge is a really charming cottage which is perfect for a couple .It’s location is ideal for exploring the Glens of Antrim and the North Coast but we found that we wanted to spend time just around the cottage and beach . It has everything that you need and on those cooler summer evenings we really enjoyed the wood burning stove . The staff at Antrim Glens Cottages couldn’t have been more helpful . We hope to return again , Bill and Doreen , Ballynahinch

Our visit in June was our second stay at Strand House, this time we brought our two daughters son-in-law and three grandsons with us and hired the Lodge as well! A warm welcome by Bridgeen made us feel very much at home and we soon learnt to relax feeling confident that the young ones were safe to come and go from the beach on their own, to watch “city” children blossom in the freedom the location offered was marvellous. As an added bonus one evening just as the boys were going to bed we spotted dolphins in the bay, don’t know who was more excited the adults or the kids. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, even at the end of a very wet week no-one wanted to go home. The facilities, location and scenery are excellent. 10/10 Antrim Glen Cottages.Jo Finnegan

We had a wonderful time staying in Straidkilly B. The cottage was lovely and provided everything we needed and our four young children had an absolute ball staying there. The views over Carnlough Bay from this cottage are amazing both day and night with the lights from Carnlough. We loved the fact that Straidkilly is high up on a hill looking over the bay. The cottage is very well located for exploring the Glens being only a very short drive from all the major attractions. Margaret is also a great host. For anyone reading this, we can recommend Straidkilly very highly. Nigel McPolin

Such a beautiful house with the most wonderful views (especially when the sun shone, which was not quite all of the time). Joe and Mary (the owners) are probably two of the most wonderful, friendly people we have ever met. A little local knowledge goes a long way in making your holiday even better. Don't miss the quiz in Mary McBrides on a Monday night, such good fun. Martin and Elaine Woolley

25th -27th February 2011 The apartment was beautiful and we were left wanting for nothing. Beautifully situated with fantastic views of Scotland. People were very friendly, Harry’s in Cushendall serves very tasty food and the atmosphere is relaxing and enchanting. Coastal route is a must with some spectacular scenes and then the Rope Bridge and Causeway cupped off a wonderful weekend for us. Hopefully we will be back soon. Thanks for everything including the lovely scones,

We really found a perfect place to stay! The apartment is modern, comfortable and the view with the water and the hills are fabulous! Cushendun works as a well situated base for exploring Northern Ireland. Everything feels quite close. Apart from visiting the “musts” like The Giants Causeway and the Rope Bridge, it is just as easy to go and spend a day in Belfast or Londonderry. We’ve had a great stay and hope to come again. And we will certainly recommend the apartment to anyone interested in visiting Northern Ireland! Thanks a million! Evie Per Lina Sam Sweden PS: And the welcome kit was really something extra! Thanks

Thank you Briege and family, we had a fabulous week staying in Cushendun! The apartment is extremely comfortable, sparklingly clean, warm as toast, and very child friendly. Cushendun is a beautiful little village with a nice pub and lovely walks to take, along the beach or across the fields. The many delights of the North Antrim coast are all a short drive away- Giant’s causeway, magnificent beachs, Torr Head (a must!) etc but a real surprise were the Glens of Antrim- stunning scenery, super walks and a geologist’s paradise! All in all a terrific place for a break which can be as quiet or as active as you like. The children loved it too and we will most certainly be back!

Three of us spent 8 nights in Glen Cottage for the fifth time in six years. Each time it feels like coming home. The cottage is comfortable and Pauline is the perfect hostess. After a long flight it is nice to receive such a warm welcome. Although the cottage is comfortable, some of the furnishings could use an update. The livingroom furniture and carpet are showing their age, just as they were three years ago. But if that view is displeasing, just look out the window at the fantastic glen.

We stayed in Strand House in April 2010 and enjoyed one of our best holidays ever. We visited the Giants Causeway and my Aunty in Ballygally and then spent the rest of the time enjoying the lovely house and gorgeous surroundings. The children spent as much time as they could playing on the nearby rocks. The beach at Cushendun is idyllic and so peaceful - yet plenty of driftwood to collect for the fabulous log burner! The cottage catered for our every need and all the extras provided were very much appreciated. The car was not needed as the local shop and pub were great for essentials and meals out. The playground was also fab for the children. We hope to return one day. Thank you Antrim Glens Cottages. Robinson Family.

Strand Cottage July 2010 This is an ideal family cottage with loads of games and space and so close to the beach. It was a fantastic base for sightseeing and there were plenty of ideas of things to do. We may not have been blessed with the weather, on occasions, but the sea is always fantastic to look at. The geology of the area is fascinating. What a wonderful way of benefitting the community by renovating these properties and keeping them in use. Quite an inspirational idea! R. Webster

Wow. Where to begin. Simply fantastic. We are a family of four from San Diego California who spent three weeks in the Emerald Isle. Dublin, Claire and a week cruising the River Shannon from Boyle to Lanesborough. Seventy degrees fahrenheit the first 10 days. Sixtyish the second 10 days and little rain. (It rained one night overnight and that did not count. But the highlight of the trip was the Antrim coast and the Antrim Cottage. Five minutes from a national park with great hiking trails. Wonderfull accomdations that were clean, convenient and comfortable. Great comfortable beds that let you sleep soundly. Delightful view of the coast, the glen and Scotland. We took day trips from the cottage to Derry, Giants Causeway, Bushmills, Ballymena, The Rope Bridge. We hiked the glen and the waterfalls three times that week. My seven year old son and I went fishing twice (catching nothing but snags but who cares. We discovered the GAA club in Waterfoot and went to hurling matches four times that week. In so many ways we fell into the life of the village at the GAA club. My son met many of the Waterfoot kids and was accepted at the kids dance and was allowed to practice hurling with the kids. The week at Glen Cottage was a special week in our lives. I expect our next trip over will start or end in Glenariffe with some time in Scotland. I have passed this link on to some friends for their travel plans. No American should go to Ireland without experiencing the beauty and hospitality of the Antrim Coast. It was the time of our lives. And did I mention the beds were very comfortable and the price was oh so reasonable. Peter Gallagher San Diego California

Joyce and Daryl Lakey May 2010 This cottage was ideal for our quite relaxing few days in early May. Everything we needed was available to us; very comfortable and cosy and in such a fabulous location. The beach is extensive and quiet; the village unspoilt and only a leisurely 5 minutes walk from the front door. Would seriously consider a further stay here should we visit this beautiful part of NI again.

6 VERY WET BIKERS FROM NEWCASTLE ( and Manchester! ) We arrived at Strand House 15th May, soaked to the skin! what greeted us was the most fantastic cottage, it felt like home straight away, you need bring nothing but yourself! McBrides bar is very welcoming, the food is great ( and Guiness ). I asked the question ' when do you close' the answer was when do you want to leave!!! There is a good shop that is open until 8 pm that sells everything, an excellent cafe too. The village is outstanding, very clean and quiet, Strand house itself is is an idylic location just off the main road ( well country lane ! ), its a 5 min walk to the village centre, fantastic views out to sea from the bedroms, oil fired heating system is great, get the log fire blazing and you're in paradise. If you want peace & quiet and to be surrounded with natures finest, this is the place, good for familes , groups & couples.
